Catalogue: Bruno Mathsson Prize 2021

In 2021, Swedish designer Mönica Forster was awarded the prestigious annual Bruno Mathsson Prize. Her achievement was marked with an exhibition of her work at Vandalorum museum. Alongside writer Gustaf Kjellin, I was commissioned to write an essay in the exhibition catalogue, exploring Mönica’s international reach throughout her career.

The catalogue is available to visitors of the exhibition, running at Vandalorum from 20th November 2021 until 18th April 2022.

Interview by Plate Talks

Occasionally, my usual role as an interviewer gets flipped. Cecilia McCormick of Plate Talks invited me to nominate an object that I love from my kitchen for her Object Recipes series, and then explain why. Rather than picking a niche culinary implement, I opted for something that gets regular use: the S3 Casserole Pan, designed by Felix de Pass for Crane Cookware. Cecilia then asked me to cook something with it – I opted for a humble yet nutrient-laden vegetable stock, instructions included.
