Exhibition: Design You Can Feel, 17th-22th September 2024
Dezeen has teamed up with ASUS Zenbook to curate a major exhibition during London Design Festival called Design You Can Feel. The exhibition is a journey through material, craftsmanship and AI.
At its heart is an exploration of Ceraluminum, an innovative material by ASUS, presented alongside work by leading designers and curated around themes that showcase the brand’s approach to design.
The exhibition celebrates Zenbook – the new laptop from ASUS featuring the Ceraluminum material, whose light and durable tactility can be used to create designs with a unique and everlasting appeal.
Each of the pieces in the exhibition – which span furniture, lighting and installation design – speak to these qualities in different ways. The show explores how material qualities such as form, colour and texture can be combined to create objects or moments that awaken the senses.
Featured designers include Fernando Laposse, Giles Miller, Natural Material Studio, Niceworkshop and Studio Furthermore.
The exhibition culminates in a specially commissioned piece, called SUSA, made from Ceraluminum by Future Facility, a design and research studio led by distinguished designers Kim Colin, Sam Hecht and Leo Leitner.
Through this conceptual design, the studio explores the relationship between the digital and physical worlds and asks how technology such as artificial intelligence and materiality can combine to create calm and tactile objects, ultimately changing the way we experience digital interfaces.
Max is part of the team that curated and delivered the exhibition. It takes place from 17th-22nd September 2024, is free to attend and is open from 10am-5pm daily at Protein Studios, 31 New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3EY.

Embracing neurodiversity in creativity, to form safe spaces, Main Arena, 2pm, 12th September 2024
The creative industry and all that it encompasses is home to a variety of people, and the diversity amongst creatives is vast. Neurodiversity and neurodivergence are terms we hear more of these days, as we learn, understand and accept that being neurodivergent is absolutely nothing to be afraid. Research has taught us that most neurodivergent people have one thing in common – creativity. This panel discussion delves into how we can embrace neurodiversity in creativity so that we’re developing safe and secure environments not only for ourselves, but for those around us.
Speakers are Henna Helander, architect at HHC and Tim Reusch, head of consulting & planning studio at Vitra.
This talk is free to attend.
