Talk: Design Transforms, 18th September 2023
I will be participating in a panel discussion about design’s role in delivering a future beyond fossil fuels. Initiated by UPM Biochemicals in partnership with Central Saint Martins (University of The Arts London), the focus is to demonstrate how renewable materials can be implemented in the development of everyday products. Alongside industry change makers and thought leaders, we will explore how we can jointly deliver on the vision to urgently shift to renewable, circular materials.
The talk takes place on Monday 18th September at 5pm at the LVMH Theatre at Central Saint Martins campus in Granary Square, King’s Cross as part of the London Design Festival.
The talk is moderated by Martin Ledwon from UPM Biochemicals and includes artist, designer and campaigner Daniel Lismore; head of sustainability practice at Salterbaxter, Dax Lovegrove; and sustainable design consultant, educator and designer Jane Penty. And me!
The talk is part of the collaboration between UPM and Central Saint Martins that launched earlier this year, briefing students with the challenge of creating new design concepts that have the potential to bring a fossil free future to life, the best of which will be unveiled at the Design Transforms ’23 exhibition.
Talk is free to attend but registration is necessary here.
